About the game:
Portal is a new single player game from Valve. Set in the mysterious Aperture Science Laboratories, Portal has been called one of the most innovative new games on the horizon and will offer gamers hours of unique gameplay.

The game is designed to change the way players approach, manipulate, and surmise the possibilities in a given environment; similar to how Half-Life® 2's Gravity Gun innovated new ways to leverage an object in any given situation.

Players must solve physical puzzles and challenges by opening portals to maneuvering objects, and themselves, through space.

Instructions:

1. Download the game (links below).
   
2. Extract the contence of the archive (password: c@t / 7-Zip is recommended for extraction).
   
3. Run the Portal setup.exe and install the game.
   
4. After the installation launch the game by using the desktop or startmenu shortcut.

FAQ:

Q.: What is the password for the archive?
A.: It's c@t.

Q.: With which tool can I extract the archives?
A.: Use 7-Zip.

Q.: Why does the installation take so long?
A.: The game is highly compressed using the 7z LZMA compression. Wait a bit until the data is extracted.

Q.: There are many red marked sentences in the console... do I have to worry?
A.: As long as you can play the game probably, ignore these errors.

Q.: Accidently I deleted the shortcut on my desktop and in my startmenu. How can I launch the game?
A.: Go to the game directory and launch the game using the Portal.exe

Q.: After selection an installation directory I cannot press the next button.
A.: Check your disc space.

Q.: The installation took about 1 second, but I cannot play the game.
A.: Make sure you extracted at least the portal setup.exe and Data.7z into the same folder!

Q.: Will there be updates in the future?
A.: Yes. When? When Valve releases updates.

Q.: How can I uninstall the game?
A.: Just go to your Windows control panel, select software and remove the game from the list. The uninstaller will remove the game directory and its shortcuts.

Q.: Is it possible to install the game without using your installer?
A.: Yes of course! Just extract the contence of the Data.7z. It includes all game files.

Q.: How can I change the ingame language?
A.: Go to your game directory, open up rev.ini and change

Important: Only the text language will be changed! Sounds / Taunts / Voices still be stay english!

Q.: When I try to extract the archive(s), this error occurs: "Can't open archive."
A.:

1. Check if you downloaded all files (no numbers missing?).
   
2. Check if all files are of equal size (except for the last one).
   
3. Try to open the entire archive by opening the first file (*.001).
   
4. If 1., 2. and 3. didn't help: Redownload.

Q.: When I started a new game or enter a new map, I get the error "Node graph out of date. Rebuilding...".
A.: Don't worry. Just ignore this message.
